PERSONNEL QUOTE

The film industry is about saying ‘no’ to people, and inherently you cannot take ‘no’ for an answer.

Personally I feel that the Indian Film Industry is going through a transitional phase, where all the so called Commercial Directors (names excused) who are slicked to their formula of film-making will be vanished. A new breed of Directors will emerge on the horizon with their novel ideas, slick screenplay, different visuals, and different kind of sound-effects and with the rich content without loosing the touch of Indian culture & emotions.

Since 2002 Indian Film Industry, except a few with big star cast and novel presentation with a good packaging, almost no film recovered it's cost even. All the three sectors Production, Distribution & Exhibition are badly hit. The beginning of this year has also not shown any encouraging sign so far. In this kind of situation prevailing in the Industry, time for new Directors are very favorable provided they come out with something different and are confident that it will be widely accepted.

Today, the Hindi film audience is not restricted to only Indian territory, but to the whole world. The Indians living abroad can be gauged with the fact that any big film's release-prints sometimes equal or increase with the total number of release-prints in India. Market is growing, but flops are mounting. My attempt to reach widely as a Film-maker is very much based on script... Script is the foundation, sincere efforts are on this in our all forthcoming films, the research of it's authenticity & content with the cultural depths are the mantra, we believe in.
